Q: Do women at 35+ years of age have a greater risk of miscarriage?

A: As women get older their miscarriage risk increases because of the increased incidence of chromosomal abnormalities. The risk of miscarriage (loss of a pregnancy before 20 weeks gestation) is: 12% to 15% for women in their 20's and rises to over 25% for women at age 40.
