The button down is a must have for all pregnant women; it can take you from day to night, winter to spring and from first trimester to third trimester. The button down is comfortable and easy to put on for those days when you have five minutes to get dressed, and the last thing you want to think about is what you should wear!

There are so many different ways to play around with a button down. For a classic look, pair it with your pregnancy jeans and a blazer. For a little edge, button it up all the way to the collar, throw on a statement necklace and put on a little red lipstick.

The button down is an easy way to step up your outfit. A button down is just as effortless as a t-shirt, but looks like you tried harder. Try the signature loosely cut silk button downs from Equipment (pictured above) - they're chic and come in great contemporary colors.

Stick to solids over stripes and polka dot styles; if you are going to try a printed button down, down look for bigger darker prints rather than small bright prints. For those days when you just want to be in a t-shirt, try Equipment's silk tee - the loose cut is perfect for that growing belly, but will feel a little more luxurious!
