Listeria

Listeria is a bacterium with the official name of "Listeria monocytogenes" that is responsible for a certain food poisoning called Listeriosis. Listeriosis is a serious infection usually caused by eating contaminated food with symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Listeriosis most likely sickens people with weakened immune systems, pregnant women and their newborns, and adults aged 65 or older.
