Family is all about support and love and there is no better time to have tons of both than the time you spend in the delivery room. Discuss your feelings about immediate and extended family being part of the delivery with your partner early in the pregnancy. Once you decide who you want to be there with you during labor you'll need to talk with your doctor and/or the hospital to work through any rules they may have about attendance.

Some hospitals allow as many people as the couple wants in the room and other hospitals have a strict limit. Typically the limit may be stretched a bit if there is a labor coach or doula who'll be attending the birth along with dad.
