Hilary Duff is painting the nursery blue. The 24 year-old actress and singer, who became famous as the child star of Disney’s, Lizzie McGuire,
revealed on the Ellen DeGeneres Show that she is expecting a baby boy. This is the first child for Duff and her husband, professional ice hockey player, Mike Comrie.
Duff first announced she was pregnant on
her website on her one year anniversary, August 14, 2011. After sharing about her marriage, the star wrote: “We also want to share the exciting news that…BABY MAKES THREE! We are extremely happy and ready to start this new chapter of our lives.”
Not long after the couple was married, the baby rumors had already begun. Though Hilary took to Twitter to deny the rumors, she made it clear that she would one day want children. “We’re excited to have kids…but we don’t want to do it now. We’ve been married for six weeks.” Guess the couple couldn’t wait any longer!
Duff is now about 4 months pregnant and can be seen around town with a growing baby bump and the
second trimester glow. She picked America’s beloved daytime talk show, Ellen, to announce the baby’s sex for the first time. “I had a feeling it was a boy the whole time,” she said.
It turns out that the couple may have been trying for a while, Duff hints as she goes on to describe the moment she found out she was pregnant: “My husband makes this joke that I think I’m pregnant like 12 times a year. So when it actually happened…he was in the shower and I just held up
the test and I was like, ‘Oh my god,’ and he was like ‘Ahh!’ He was soaking wet. We were just a mess and started crying. It was really exciting.”
Congratulations Hilary and Mike!
