Eight-time Grammy Award winner Adele, 24, has announced that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Simon Konecki, 36. The singer, whose iconic voice and has been topping the charts since the release of her first album “19,” took to her website to make a special announcement to her fans.
“I’ve got some news…” she wrote. “I am delighted to announce that Simon and I are
expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx.”
The couple has been dating for a year and in February Adele told Vogue magazine that she was taking a four or five year hiatus to concentrate on her relationship. The singer also
spilled to People magazine that she really wanted to be a mother and that she was hoping for three sons by age 30. “I better start getting on with it!” she said.
Adele, whose songs frequently include tales of heartbreak, said after announcement of her hiatus: “If I am constantly working, my relationships fail…So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy. And then I don’t know what I’ll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch.”
We’re thrilled for the singer and are hopeful she won’t stay away so long that we miss out on the baby bump pics. Congratulations Adele and Simon!
