I just thought I would start this thread for all the people who are going to be coming over in the next few days and weeks. I like that we can all stay together. :)

I posted this in the first tri, but I'm a little sad to be in the second tri already., This is most likely my last baby, and it seems to be flying by. I'm sure I will regret typing that when I am 8 months pregnant. :)

Next appointment is August 31 for 16 week check. Then September 28th for the Level II and the big reveal (I hope).

:o) finally we are here, I know how you feel about time flying so fast....I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that I'm half way there...
My next appointment is September 14th, but before that this coming Monday I'm going back for the second anatomy scan, and I get to see the baby again :o)
How is Mel doing? Is she talking a lot yet?

Hi Girls!!!

Sorry but havent found the time to get on here lately, just been so busy with kids, work, home etc...but anyways i had my gender scan 3 weeks ago and found out were having a BOY!!! We are over the moon, with us already having 2 girls, my dp was crying in the scan room as he was so happy with that result! lol.

Im 24 weeks now, doing good, quite big in the belly area, but i knew i wasnt going to be small after the size of last baby... 9lb 10oz...i dread to think the weight of this little man!

Just been reading through posts...congrats you guys on the second tri...time sure is flying!

Congrats Monika on the little boy!

Ape are you going to find out your babys gender?

Hi girls, you can run but you can't hide :) LOL!!

Thanks for starting a second tri posting Ape. I am just a little bit BM stupid, so I would've probably just kept right on a posting in the first tri board that you started if Monika wouldn't have told me about the new board. Besides that fact that I was a party crasher on the June BFP board anyway, but I'm working on those issues with my therapist :)

I posted on the first tri board, but I'll post here too....I got a call today and my amnio results came back great!!! I am so excited. Oh, and today I felt some fluttering in my belly :) It was a very happy day in Tammyland.

JD, congrats on the boy! I am having a boy too! And according to the psychic, so is Ape. Lots of snakes and snails and puppy dog tails coming soon!!

Ape, sorry this pregnancy is going so fast for you. Hopefully things slow down a little bit so that you can enjoy every moment of it. It's been the total opposite for me, I feel like I've been pregnant for a year and a half already!

Hi Deb :)

Monika, can't wait to hear how your u/s goes on Monday.

I am travelling to IL this weekend for a wedding, so hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hi Tammy, congrats on the little boy! Looks like it could well be boys all round for us lot.
Great news that your amnio results came back fine.
How cool is it to feel it moving, i absolutely love it, i think its the best part of pregnancy been able to feel them wriggling in your belly, its so surreal. Ha i say wriggling, his movements are now more like hes having a game of football!, he kicked the other night and i half jumped up it was that strong in my side...daddy was so proud of him!! lol

It will be strange to have a little boy around the house, were just so used to girls, girls toys, girls clothes, girls tantrums...ha ha...ive heard boys are supposed to be more chilled out and apparently more loving...ill have to wait and see if thats true.

Monika, luck you getting to see your baby again, what a treat! Think we could all probably lay there all day and watch our little ones on the screen.

JD,
I can't believe how far you are. It seems like yesterday we were all having our babies. We will find our in about 6 weeks what we are having. I toyed with the idea of not finding out, but there is no way I would make it. DH is sure the baby is a boy. I have even caught myself saying him/he a few times. :)

Monika,
How exciting to have one of each. I really think that is perfect.

Tammy,
I am over the moon for you. I haven't heard my NT results. Dr. Hottie told me he only calls if the results are under 5000 for any of the screening. Hmmmmm I still would like to know, but as DH pointed out even if something came up I couldn't have an amnio until at least 16 weeks anyway which is my next appointment. I hate it when he is so practical.

I am loving my new schedule. I have ten classes on Tuesday and Thursdays, and teach band/orchestra Wednesday mornings. then I have a nice 4 day weekend. It is great. Melody and I get to spend some alone time together on MOndays and Fridays. :)

I have to figure out how much time to take off for FMLA. I don't get paid beyond what I have saved in sick/vacation time. I had 10 weeks saved with Mel, but since I have only been back one full school year, I will only have 4 weeks saved.
I stayed home for 9 months with Mel, but I don't think we can do that again. The economy stinks, and our savings that are invested are worth 1/8 what they were 2 years ago. :( Plus with my cushy schedule working isn't really a hard ship. My pricipal is awesome and really pro family. So she will really work with me to give me time to pump and anything else. I work at a very small public school. there are only 10 classroom teachers, and they are all super nice. Most know that I am pg (no hiding the bump even with babydoll tops) and they all ask if I need a break, or to run to the rest room. it is really sweet.

OK off to BRU (babies r us) and Whole Foods (or as I like to call it "whole paycheck.")

I am glad someone made a place for us in the 2nd tri... i was afraid there would be no one to talk to because everyone would stay in the summer bfp or june bfp board. It is nice to be here but it is flying by too fast....

yay Amy, can't wait!!!

This is maybe a dumb question, but what do you girls consider the transition to 2nd tri? I've read 12 weeks, 13 weeks, and 13.3 weeks (officially 1/3 of the way thru).

Melly,
I think 13 weeks is fine. I have an IPhone app that said 12 weeks though. I think the 3rd tri starts at 27 weeks.

Amy,
Do you have a preference? I know my DH is really hoping for a boy. None of the guys in his family have any boys, and he wants to be the first.

Goldie,
That is great news!!! I don't remember what you were doing right now, but I'm sure teaching has to be an improvement. I know a couple of friends back east just got called back this past week. We have already started back so I forget that other schools haven't stated yet. :)
What will you be teaching?
I would wait a couple of weeks before telling anyone. How much time do you want to take?

Thanks Ape! I'll be teaching reading. It will be a change from
what I'm used to, but I think I'll like it :) I'm only 8 weeks
and I have a dr appointment on the 4th, so I will definitely
wait to tell them till after that. I'm following my cousin's
advice (he's a lawyer), which was basically, "Don't lie if
they ask, but don't volunteer anything yet either." Hopefully,
I can suck the tummy in for a few more weeks! And the
m/s has been better the last few days (maybe b/c I haven't
been at my summer job!). I would really like to think the
pregnancy will be a "non-issue", but I also realize they
probably won't be thrilled. I will probably only take a 6 week
leave :( I don't know yet how many sick days I get, but I'm
pretty sure we can bet it's not 6 weeks worth - haha! So since
it will be unpaid, it will have to be on the short side. I only had
6 weeks with DD and was really hoping I could at least 2-3 months
the 2nd time around, but . . . . I'll look on the bright side. I'm due
around March 29, take 6 weeks off, go back to school for maybe
a month or so, then it will be summer break! So, I think that will
all work out :)

Goldie,
That is great! If you are full time, are you eligible for short term disability? That way you would get at least part of your paycheck. I'm not eligible because I am only teaching part time this year. I was thinking of only taking 8-12 weeks this time. I took an entire school year off with Mel and it was great. But since I only work Tuesday - Thursday it seems silly to take too much time off and not be paid.

Monika,
Did you have your u/s today? Just making sure he still has boy parts.

That's a good idea Ape! I'll have to check into that. And I'll have to get on the ball and file our taxes really early, so maybe we'll have our refund by then :)

Amy, I know you found out it was twins really early. My grandma is a twin who had twins so I was asking her when she found out there were two - 6 weeks before they were born!!! And no u/s then, so they actually took an x-ray! They were big boys, too; 7+ pounds each! Ouch! I hope the babies cooperate on the 31st for you!
