Is anyone else in shock??? I remember being pregnant with my son and finding out at 14 weeks and thinking that the pregnancy just took FOREVER...and then knowing almost instantly with both surro pregnancies and thinking the same...I found out pretty early this time and it seems like I blinked and woke up at 26w2d!!! Crazy!!!! Especially now that we are almost all down to double digits in our countdowns.

April - Love the shower idea about having a drawing for the gift card...that is a great idea.

I'm sure most of you know who have been to Babies R Us about their reward program. If you don't and you shop there, take advantage of it. Usually, every payday, we buy 2 boxes of diapers with whatever coupons they are currently running. If you buy 9 value packs of either Huggies or Pampers within 90 days, they send you a certificate for one pack of equal value. But it is oner or the other, Huggies or Pampers. We have just earned our 3rd certificate. They also have a program where you earn a $5.00 gift card for every $150.00 you spend within the same 3 month period (excluding the diapers). Also, they just changed some of the rules on 08/01 but it still seems well worth it. In total, we have earned $115.00 in gift cards through that and the different diaper promotions they have. I am trying to save them for whatever we still need after the baby showers.

So how is everyone??? I have to say that I am not looking forward to my GTT next Friday...I just want to get through it w/o throwing up!!!

Well, I hope everyone enjoyes the rest of their week!!! Welcome to the 3rd tri everyone!!!!!!

Ashlynne Grace is here!!!! 10/28/09 @ 8 p.m. 5 lb. 14 oz. 18 1/2 in.!!!

Happy Wednesday!

Thanks Rena for starting the new thread- it's so exciting to be in the 3rd trimester!

Leen: any news/updates on the GD testing?

Aimee: what were your GD results?

Has anyone had to get the Rhogam (sp?) shot for negative blood types yet? My Dr told me I had to get it btwn 28-30wks so when I go in next week for my 30wk and ultrasound to check the low lying placenta I have to get it because I'm A- . I heard it hurts quite a bit as they put it into your hip/thigh. Anyone else have to get that?

Anyone taking baby classes? Anyone have any recommendations? We just finished our general 5 (2hr) classes on pregnancy, labor & delivery, etc. We have our in-class session in 3wks where we learn about breathing/relaxation techniques and we get a tour of the hospital. I'm thinking of taking a breastfeeding class but just wondering if any of you have taken any others that you think would be bennificial?

I feel like time is flying by...It's already August and summer in the midwest is slowly creeping away... boo! I have to say though I'm looking forward to the state fair- cheese curds! With our house closing tomorrow and 4 weddings (every weekend this month) I feel like the remainder of this pregnancy is going to fly by..only 11 more weeks! It's interesting to think about but the 1st trimester you worry about the baby staying in and cooking (not miscarrying), the 2nd trimester is pretty smoothe sailing, and the 3rd trimester you try and survive the uncomfortable feeling all the while trying to again keep it cooking as long as possible to avoid pre-term labor! It's interesting!

Have a good one, wish me luck we're doing our final walk-thru tonight before the big close and painting party this weekend!!!

Hey gals! Nice job starting this post, Rena!

I've been MIA from BM this summer, but I'm hoping to make a comeback! :)

Erin - I signed up for a breastfeeding class per advice from a friend. She said it was really helpful. Everyone tells me that breastfeeding is LEARNED NOT INSTINCT (scary), so I figured I'd take all the help I can get! Are you planning on having pain relief during the birth?

What are everyone's big fears? Mine is being too late at the hospital for an epidural and TEARING...OMG I am TERRIFIED of that!! Has anyone heard of perinneal massage actually working? Any other tips to prevent it?

I didn't take breastfeeding classes before my first, but had a consult with a lactation specialist shortly after birth and it helped so much. They can teach you how to "aim" your breast for baby, how to stimulate a sleepy baby and tons of other things that are not instinctive. I def. recommend it.

I'm taking a breastfeeding class in addition to the childbirth class due to the fact that my company pays up to $250 for prenatal class reimburstment- pretty good deal! Plus I've heard it is really beneficial.

Beth, I am TERRIFIED when the tearing talk comes!!! I've been practicing yoga for years (my mother teaches all around the globe) and I've been doing certain excercises to try to make sure i can "stretch" down there, but no matter what excereises I do, my hips still feel tighter as this pregnancy progresses! Guess I'll keep at the yoga....

Erin~ I don't know my GD results yet. It's annoying, since my doc's office has the policy "no news is good news". I'll try calling next week if I don't hear anything by the end of tomorrow. Wish me luck!:) (I had a fluffernutter sandwich a couple of hours beforehand...:))

Hi Girls

Well, we just celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary yesterday and bought a new home!!!! We have been stalking the market for months, but finally decided to jump in. I'll try and post a picture.

Beth and Leen - Tearing is one of those things that can happen...... but does not always. My friend did some sort of perinneal massage, with her husbands help..... that allowed her to deliver her baby vaginally withourt tearing. I thought it was sort of gross and figured I would take my chances with DD - BIG MISTAKE!!! I tore terribly - from my urethra right back to my anus. I had to get several needles to freeze me down there (not that mattered at that point), before the doctor could stich me up. I don't know how many stictches but the doctor spent at least 30 mins sewing me up. According to one nurse on duty........( I had to ask her how bad I was compared to other women.)........ she said I was the worst she had ever seen and then hugged me. I even lost bladder control after dd was born for about 8 weeks - good old DEPENDS!!!!! The disgusting part was because the epidural did not work...... I felt the tearing. It just feels like buring. To be honest, the actual tearing hurst nothing compared to everything else that is going on..... however, it is the afterpain and swelling that is brutal. Unfortunately, I also think I was at a disadvantage because DH and I had bd'd since about 11 weeks due to placenta previa. I have heard that bd also helps loosen you up........ but I might be wrong. On a bright note.... I healed down there and would never know that anything had even happened. Nylah was also a big baby... with a big head. They had to use the vaccuum.... so everything was working against me. I have not started any type of perinneal massage...... but am considering it. I really do not feel like going through what I did with DD.

Pin relief - I'll take whatever I can get. Ijust hopeit works this time. The hospital really messed up with DD and I did it med free! Wahhhhhhhhh!!!

Does anyone else feel like the baby's movements have changed? The only
way I can think of to describe it is before, I was feeling more of a sharp jab
or poke; in the last week or so it's turned into more of a soft nudge, more
rolling at times, etc... a girl at my office said during her pregnancy she felt
that too and it was because the baby has less room as they grow which
makes sense, but there's a small part of me that can't help but worry.....
any insight on this?

Hi girls!

Erin - I had to get my rhogam last week for the same reason & blood type that you have. They did a blood draw first, matched it with the serum, then the shot went into my arm. The only other person that I know who had the shot had it in their butt. Maybe you could make a request? It was pretty painless in the arm. Just got bored waiting the hour in between the blood draw and the shot.

Rena- The house is beautiful! Congrats! Please tell me you don't have to actually move between now and your due date? What a pain!

Rena~ I love the new house, its beautiful!!

Leen~ I am noticing so much movement. Sometimes I get the sharp pains too, my doctor said its nothing to be concerned about. The babies kick and hit so hard sometimes it is a little painful and the other day I was relaxing after work and one kicked so hard it scared to poop out of me, I actually screamed! Then started laughing. DH stared at my stomach b/c he likes to watch the little foot or whatever it is lifting my skin up, he likes to put paper on there to see if they will knock it off. I can tell space is getting tight, it is a good thing I am 6ft tall and it gives them a little wiggle room but boy oh boy.

I have also developed bad back pain, they want to send me for physical therapy but I opted to try a heating pad on low first...it is working.

Welcome back Beth!

I also have to get the Rhogam shot in a couple of weeks, I am O- I am just trying to remember to take it to the appointment...lol I cant seem to remember anything these days!

Everyone enjoy the weekend!

Our twins arrived October 14, 2009 35 weeks 4 days~ Noah Michael 5 lb 6 oz 18.5 in long and Sophia Grace 5 lb 1 oz 18 in long
